- Entries will be taken for the Business Houses Tennis Leagues for teams in 6 divisions (assuming there are sufficient entries in each category).
- Entry fee for all teams is €100 which must accompany the entry form or follow within 3 days of teams registered on-line. Entries will be deemed invalid if payment is not received. There will be no limit on the number of teams a company may enter in any division.
- Teams and substitutes must be entered on an official entry form and all relevant details must be completed. Incorrect information may lead to disqualification. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to place any team in any division they deem appropriate.
- Each match will consist of a Men’s singles, a Ladies singles and a Mixed Doubles event. No player may play both singles and mixed doubles events in any given match. All team members should be of a similar standard. Please note : Division 6 is for social tennis players i.e. those not suitable for league standard.
- All matches must be played on the scheduled dates. In the event of bad weather, any outstanding ties must be played before the next scheduled match. All matches must be completed by Friday March 20th. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
- The team named first in the schedule will be responsible for the match and venue organisation and supply of tennis balls. Each match will be the best of 3 sets. Tie breaks will operate in all sets.
- All team members must be full-time employees of the company they represent. No player may play for 2 companies. Substitutes may be used at any time providing they have been registered for the team and division.
- 2 companies may combine to enter a team as long as they provide 2 players from each company per match. This team should be registered in the normal way including names of both participating companies. Substitutes may be used at any time providing they have been registered for the team and division.
- 1 point will be awarded for every match won within an individual tie. The winners of each group will be decided on the highest number of points won. In the event of a tie, the results of the matches between the teams involved will decide. Should this prove inconclusive, a count back on sets, then games won and lost within the relevant matches will decide.
- Results must be completed and returned on an official result sheet on the website or by e-mail to bhl@tmci.ie to TMC within 2 days of the match.
- All Quarter and Semi Finals will be during the weeks after the Round Robin matches are completed. Finals will be completed as soon after that as possible.
- If possible, a prize draw will be held for participating teams that complete all their matches. Confirmation and details of this will be announced before the tournament commences.
- All entry forms or on-line registrations must be received by TMC on or before 6.00pm on Friday 6th February 2009. All entries must be accompanied by the entry fee.
